Oregon State Kart Championship
Round 2, Pats Acres (20th April)
Havng a practice day the week prior helped shake down the kart to find a good base set up. Still starting from the back, (mandatory for rookie) had some luck with leaders having contact. Pulled out a pass for second place late in the race to bring home the 2nd place trophy. Thanks to the team for a good kart.
Oregon State Kart Championship
Round 1 McMinnville(30th March)
This would be the first time out (Lon only) with a new kart, track, and series. Thanks to Jerry and Luke and Mike for working into the night to get the kart ready for race day.
Result, we were running 4th but our day ended with a mechanical issue.
Added note. The team would like to give an extra thanks to Luke (Sykart) and Don (CMC) for all their help getting us up and running.
S.I.R.S. Winter Season Re-cap.........(5th May 08)
Another great run for the BSH teams. 3 BSH teams of two ran winter this season.
Dominating in their respected classes, Tony and Steve would take the team championship to make it two in a row. Tony would win both of his classes of Pro heavy and GT sport. He would also pick up the "Star" of the league award. Steve picked up his second Pro light championship, making it 2 in a row.
Scott, picking up where he left off last season, and Joe (the new guy) both stepped it up late, winning races and leap frogging from 5th to 2nd in team points in the final race. Scott would take the GT heavy championship along with the "sportsmanship" award. Joe dusted the rust off early, having been out of the seat for awhile, and would stay on Tony's heels the whole season and take 2nd in GT sport.
Lon and Jerry had a rough season. With a couple of mis-cues, a missed race and not a lot of things going their way, they could not keep up with the point leaders. They would end up 5th in team standings. Lon would take 2nd in GT senior, and 3rd in GT light. Jerry ended up 4th in GT sport after switching classes at the half way point from GT light.
Whats next? Well, Lon and Steve have found some karts and are racing World Formula class outdoors. Scott, Tony, and Joe are still looking for some wheels. Hopefully, they can get some seat time this summer. With the goal of all of us running under the same tent for a full season next year.
